GO MATILDAS!
The Matildas are playing for Australia in the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on Saturday the 12th of August 2023 at 5pm AEST.
We at Arab Australia News are 100% behind our Australian Women’s historic clash against France.
In the friendly game against France before the World Cup game, the Matildas beat France 1-0. France has downplayed the significance of this loss, with French Midfielder Kenza Dali saying “I feel like this World Cup everywhere we played the crowd was against us and at the moment it’s good for us,” Dali told after France brushed aside Morocco 4-0 in the last 16 in Adelaide on Tuesday. “So it’s up to us to handle the pressure.”
She continued by saying “When we played this game, we were still in preparation, even Australia. It’s going to be a completely different game on Saturday night,” she said.
The Matildas team had this to say after the game as well
“It’s nice to show it in front of a big crowd and get the crowd behind us before next week,” offered Kerr.
Kennedy said, bring on the tournament: “I think we just really want to embrace this whole experience to really soak it up and use the fans and everyone behind us to our benefit.”
With the match coming up on Saturday, we are confident in our women to give their best against the 5th ranked team, as it will be a tough competition, but on their home turf in Brisbane the crowd will be backing them all the way and so will we here at Arab Australia. Please feel free to leave comments and support to our women as they persevere with their hard work and determination to win. This is about Australian football and the nation supporting our elite squad. And you, our reader also.
