RICHARD DI NATALE: MEDIA ANNOUNCEMENT –
“What a great win! This bill will set up a national corruption watchdog with teeth that will hold politicians to account and make sure they’re not just looking after their lobbyist mates.
People have lost faith in our politicians – and with dodgy behaviour left, right, and centre, who could blame them.
Now our bill has passed the Senate, it will head to the house – where it says loud and clear that the Senate won’t put up with the Liberal’s weak approach.
Almost all the political parties agree we need a federal anti corruption body. So what are they waiting for? The Greens have been pushing 10 years for this, and now it passed through the Senate! There is no more time for lip service, let’s get this done to clean up our democracy.
If Liberal and Labor vote against this in the House, Australians will ask what are they hiding?”
