What did Feras say about his win?
“I am absolutely over the moon”
“I didn’t for a million years think I could make it on Survivor, let alone win the bloody game”
“This is my chance to show my parents that there are so many ways to make it in Australia”
“I wanted to make my community proud and to represent the community the best I could”
Feras is the first contestant and, by extension, Sole Survivor of Jordanian descent. Feras lost 17 kg during his time in Titans v Rebels.
Feras is the first male contestant since Jericho Malabonga to win Australian Survivor on his first attempt,
as both David Genat and Mark Wales won the game as returning players.
Feras Basal is the Sole Survivor of Australian Survivor: Titans v Rebels.
Fiercely loyal to his closest allies, Feras played a confident social game that allowed him to recover from nearly game-ending blunders,
most notably during the tribe switch when his back was most up against the wall. After the merge,
Feras settled into a comfortable position and was rarely targeted despite having a public Hidden Immunity Idol.
His decision to align with rival Kirby Bentley created a formidable duo that brought them both much success and afforded him a guaranteed path to the Final Two.
However, when Kirby lost immunity at the final five, Feras took a big risk by dispensing of her and nearly paid the price when he lost the next Immunity Challenge.
Ultimately, Feras was able to win the Final Immunity Challenge and made it to the Final Two.
Despite a slow start to Final Tribal Council where his vague answers were met with a cold reception from the jury,
Feras made a comeback with his confident advocacy for his game. Earning the jury’s respect, Feras was unanimously crowned the first Sole Survivor of Arab descent.
Feras (Rebel)
HR Manager
A larrakin who is ready to spin the game on its head, Feras is from Western Sydney and ready to represent.
He says, “I want to be the Sole Survivor because I feel like I can prove that a little old Arab man from Western Sydney can win this thing.
I want to prove people wrong and show little seven-year-old Feras that he can do something like this. I want to be the minority who takes over the majority.
I’m a Rebel through and through.”
An HR manager who specialises in aged care and disability,
Feras admits he can be very professional at work but then there’s the cheeky side and he hopes he can work out which one to be at the right time while on the island.
Feras says people can often get the wrong idea of him, thinking he’s a tough guy based off his size,
but he has one definite soft spot and leaving his wife behind will be the absolute hardest part of the game.
He says, “My wife is the one person who I crumble around. If you bring her to this island, I’ll shatter into a million pieces.
She’s a tough woman and a quarter of my size so people think I’m wearing the pants but definitely not. She’s my absolute everything.
