Arab Pop Icon Nancy Ajram Returns to Professional Life with a… MUSICAL REBIRTH
Just four days after giving birth Nancy Ajram has released her latest single; “Lya” dedicated to the new family member, which she described as a “blessing for her family”. Whilst pregnant and at home on maternity leave she would often listen to classical music through headphones which she would place on her belly for the baby to hear. Nancy was featured on the January cover of Vogue Arabia Magazine showing off her pregnancy bump while modeling some designer dresses.
Nancy is a Lebanese singer and Arab pop icon and has returned to her professional life with a free concert and a new recording. The concert, which was a great success, was on Saturday 27th of April at Dragon Mart 2, in Dubai, UAE. This was Nancy’s first concert since taking time out to give birth to her third child Lya, a baby girl born on Jan 31, 2019.
The concert, which was scheduled to start at 9 pm started almost an hour late, however, fans were not disappointed. The concert was described as dazzling with Ajram dressed in a black tight-fitting Alexander McQueen gown, showing her impeccable style and fashion sense.
Nancy performed in Egyptian, Lebanese and Khaleel dialects. She greeted the crowd and said she was happy to be with them and the result was an evening described by critics as thrilling and audience members saying they loved all her songs. She believes this birth may produce some more new musical ideas.
Her music, in general, has a broad mix of several different styles ranging from dance, beat, pop, and romance. Her music is highly popular with its strong Arab style, excellent melody, and extremely popular videos. Now her career is re-born with fans loving her stage style and impeccable fashion style and due to Nancy having so many successful albums and videos Nancy now has superstar status in the Arab world.
She has so far released 11 studio albums and more than 700 songs, the most recent album “Hassa Beek”in 2017. In recent years some critics have charged her music as being too typically pop and lacking in anything original or traditional however, she has widened her palette incorporating sounds from the Mediteranean and Latin America. She is also known for producing many songs with a Khaleeil style.
When she released the album “Hassa Beek” in 2017 and despite previous criticism, music critics believed she may have returned with a much needed sense of purpose in her music which they described as a solid style.
