Egyptian Election Concluded with 66.8 Percent Turnout with El-Sisi Gaining 3rd Term

It was announced on Monday 18th of December that Egyptian president Abdel Fattah El-Sisi secured a 3rd term in a landslide victory. According to the head of National Election Authority Judge Hazem Badawy, President El-Sisi received 39,702,451 valid votes. The voter turnout was 66.8 percent of more than 67.3 million registered voters, about 44.8 million people from both home and abroad, said Badawy. There were 44,288,361 valid votes, which represented 98.9 percent of the ballots cast, while 489,307 votes or 1.1 percent were regarded as invalid.
